Summary:

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit for qualified providers to deliver animal shelter operations services in Lewis County.

Lewis County Public Health & Social Services seeks to engage a qualified organization to provide animal shelter operations services that include the humane intake, care, housing, medical attention, and placement of domestic animals, with a focus on maintaining high welfare standards and facilitating positive outcomes for animals in custody.

Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County has an ongoing need for animal shelter operations services and is evaluating the option of contracting with an external organization to provide these services; and

WHEREAS, the contracted organization would be responsible for providing animal sheltering services, including the care and placement of impounded animals; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Public Health & Social Services seeks to engage a qualified organization capable of providing comprehensive animal shelter operations, including the humane intake, care, housing, medical attention, and placement of domestic animals, with an emphasis on high welfare standards and positive outcomes; and

WHEREAS, publication is needed to solicit for qualified providers interested in delivering animal shelter operations services.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Director of Public Health & Social Services is instructed to (1) issue the attached RFP, (2) create a selection committee to evaluate submittals, and (3) negotiate a contract with a qualified provider; and the BOCC Clerk of the Board is instructed to proceed with all appropriate and necessary notifications to advertise for said purpose.
