Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County is required to plan under the Growth Management Act in accordance with RCW 36.70A.040; and

WHEREAS, under the Growth Management Act, “Each comprehensive land use plan shall be subject to continuing review and evaluation by the county or city that adopted them” (RCW 36.70A.130); and

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Planning Commission commenced their review of the Comprehensive Plan on August 25, 2020, and continued their review of the documents throughout the remainder of 2020; and

WHEREAS, on October 13, 2020, October 27, 2020, and November 10, 2020, the Lewis County Planning Commission held duly-noticed public hearings on the proposed Comprehensive Plan, and the associated changes to the zoning map; and

WHEREAS, following the public hearings, the Planning Commission deliberated the measures and determined that the proposed amendments to the Lewis Comprehensive Plan, and the associated map changes, reflected the needs of area residents, met the intent and requirements of the Growth Management Act, and were in accordance with the public interest.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a hearing before the Board of County Commissioners is hereby scheduled for February 8, 2021, to take public testimony and/or written comment on the adoption of Ordinance 1323, amending the Lewis County Comprehensive Plan; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the BOCC is hereby instructed to proceed with all appropriate and necessary notifications, posting and publication for the changes as required by law.
