Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District #1 collects fees necessary to pay for the handling and disposal of municipal solid waste pursuant to RCW 36.58.130, which states that a solid waste disposal District is authorized to collect fees necessary to pay for the handling and disposal of municipal solid waste; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Code Chapter 8.15.210 states that the Board of Lewis County Commissioners is authorized to "establish solid waste service charges within Lewis County to cover the cost of solid waste disposal and/or transfer of solid waste"; and

WHEREAS, LCC 8.15.210 further states that initial rates and/or changes in such rates shall be published in a local newspaper 30 days prior to change, and shall become effective 30 days from the date of publication; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 approved increases for certain fees during a public hearing on March 25, 2024, after publishing notice of the hearing on Mach 4 and 11, 2024 ; and

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) wishes to approve the rate changes.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC establishes the fees outlined in Exhibit A effective July 1, 2024; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the hereby instructs the Clerk of the Board to notice the fee changes in the newspaper of record as required by LCC 8.15.210.
