Resolution

WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 72.90.300, the legislative body of a county shall establish a law and justice council by either resolution or ordinance; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners did establish by Ordinance 1200 in June 16, 2008, the Lewis County Law and Justice Council; and

WHEREAS, as part of the establishment of the Lewis County Law and Justice Council, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) did also establish a meeting schedule for the Council; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC is proposing to amend Lewis County Code 9.20.050 to reflect meeting practices of the Lewis County Law and Justice Council; and

WHEREAS, publication of notice and a hearing before the Board of County Commissioners is required in order to take public testimony and formal action on the proposed amendments to the Lewis County Code.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a hearing before the Board of County Commissioners is hereby scheduled to take place at or after 10 a.m. on August 2, 2022, to receive public testimony on Ordinance 1335, which would amend 9.20.050 of the Lewis County Code; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board is hereby instructed to proceed with all appropriate and necessary notifications, postings and publications as required by law.
