Resolution

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 21-038, Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approval is required for all contracts, projects, agreements, grant applications, contract amendments and change orders involving expenditures totaling between $50,000 and $200,000; and

WHEREAS, on February 13, 2019, the Director of Public Works approved an Annual Consultant Agreement with Landau Associates for services for geotechnical consultant services. The agreement was for a maximum amount payable of $40,000 and completion date of December 31, 2019, with an option to extend for an additional year by mutual agreement; and

WHEREAS, the option to extend was executed by Supplement No. 1 on December 31, 2019, and Supplement No. 2 was signed on January 4, 2021, extending the deadline to March 31, 2021, and increasing the maximum payable to $65,000.00 in order to complete tasks and additional work required for projects; and

WHEREAS, after a 4-week solicitation Requesting Qualifications for on-call geotechnical engineering services, Lewis County received 9 statements of qualifications (SOQs). After an evaluation of the SOQs, Landau was selected to remain as the County's on-call for geotechnical engineering services for 2021. Supplement No. 3 extends the agreement completion date to December 31, 2021, with the option to extend the agreement to the end of 2022 by mutual agreement. This supplement also increases the amount payable by $85,000 to a maximum $150,000, for additional work on current tasks 1 and 2 and other future needs.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the consultant Supplements Nos. 2 and 3 previously executed by Public Works is hereby approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
