Summary:

This resolution will ratify an agreement with Century West Engineering Corporation for the 2026 On-Call Airport Engineering Services for the Packwood and Toledo Airports. The services will include architectural, engineering, environmental, design, plans, specifications, and engineer's estimates for future projects identified on each of the 5-year Capital Improvement Plans in the amount of $150,000, funded by FAA per task order.

Resolution

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 25-087, approval from the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is required for all contracts, projects, agreements, grant applications, contract amendments and change orders involving expenditures totaling between $50,000 and $350,000; and

WHEREAS, a Request for Qualifications was published on July 9, 2026, to solicit submittals from consultants with expertise in Airport Engineering services and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements to support future professional services for projects identified on each of the 5-year Capital Improvement Plans for the Packwood and Toledo Airports; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Public Works does not have the required resources to complete this work within the scheduled time; and

WHEREAS, on September 30, 2026, the Director of Public Works approved the agreement with Century West Engineering Corporation for the 2026 On-Call Airport Engineering Services for the 2026 On-Call Airport Engineering Services for the Packwood and Toledo Airports in the amount of $150,000; and

WHEREAS, the contract term shall be for a maximum of five years including one (1) three-year initial period and two (2) one-year option renewals.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby approves the attached agreement with Century West Engineering Corporation for the 2026 On-Call Airport Engineering Services for the Packwood and Toledo Airports in the amount of $150,000, for a maximum of five years, funded by FAA, and previously executed by the Public Works Director.
