Resolution
APPROVE LEWIS COUNTY CONTRIBUTIONS FOR NON-BARGAINING UNIT (NBU) EMPLOYEES APPROVED TO RECEIVE HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS THROUGH THE WASHINGTON TEAMSTERS WELFARE TRUST (WTWT)
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the BOCC for non-represented positions that have been approved to receive health and welfare benefits through the WTWT to be treated consistently with the represented group with which they are associated; and
WHEREAS, the contribution amounts and benefits plans selected are decided upon through the collective bargaining process; and
WHEREAS, the WTWT requires that coverage for NBU employees is limited to not more than the Teamster bargaining unit’s level of coverage.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that if the BOCC approves an NBU employee to receive Teamsters Health and Welfare Benefits, the same effective dates, benefit plan selections and contribution rates documented in the collective bargaining agreement for the associated bargaining unit shall apply; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the eligibility threshold and waiting period provisions that apply to the bargaining unit employees shall also apply to the NBU employees.
DONE IN OPEN SESSION this 14th day of April, 2026.
