Resolution

WHEREAS, the mental health services contract for the Lewis County Sheriff/Jail has not been fully updated since 2017; and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff has determined that the interests of the public are best served by updating and renewing the agreement with the present provider; and

WHEREAS, the attached agreement has been negotiated by the Lewis County Sheriff's Office/Jail and Cascade Mental Health Care; and

WHEREAS, the cost of living amount (COLA) has increased from $505,310 to the $600,000 to include NCCHC requirements of weekend on-call Mental Health response.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) hereby awards the contract for the Lewis County Jail Mental Health (attached hereto as Exhibit A) to Cascade Community Health Care in the amount not to exceed $600,000 for jail mental health and $49,906 for Juvenile Mental Health for a term of one (1) year - and automatically renewed in one-year increments - with funding provided through Fund 110 - Mental Health Tax. The Sheriff - or, in his absence, the Undersheriff or Chief of Corrections - is authorized to sign on behalf of the BOCC.
