Resolution

WHEREAS, it is the intent of Lewis County to provide a safe and healthful work environment for all employees, protecting employees from hazards associated with drug and / or alcohol use in the workplace; and

WHEREAS, Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 296-800-11025, CFR 49, RCW 49.44.20 and the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988 provide specific standards and establish requirements for maintaining a drug-free work environment; and

WHEREAS, a draft Drug-free Workplace Policy has been presented to the county's elected officials as well as the department directors who report to the Board of County Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, this resolution supersedes all other Drug-free Workplace policies and resolutions.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED Lewis County hereby implements (WAC) 296-800-11025, CFR 49, RCW 49.44.20 and the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988 by adopting the Drug-free Workplace Policy as revised effective Sept. 2, 2025, and attached hereto by reference as "Exhibit A".
