Summary:

A call for bids for the Berwick Creek @ Labree Road MP 0.459 Fish Passage Culvert Replacement Project, F.A. Project NO. PROTECT-2021(078), CMP-2001, was issued on May 28, 2025. Public Works received three responsive bids on June 12, 2025.  The engineer's estimate is $1,857,905.00.

Public Works recommends awarding this project to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, Steele Trucking, Inc., Chehalis, WA.

Resolution

WHEREAS, a call for bids was issued May 28, 2025, for the Berwick Creek @ Labree Road MP 0.459 Fish Passage Culvert Replacement Project, F.A. Project NO. PROTECT-2021(078), CMP-2001; and

WHEREAS, a two-week advertisement duration was approved by WSDOT Local Programs on May 21, 2025, to meet conditions of the WDFW HPA permit and to provide industry time to produce a precast concrete culvert within the designated timeframe; and

WHEREAS, bid quotations were submitted by contractors on June 12, 2025, as follows:

WHEREAS, Steele Trucking, Inc. provided the lowest responsive bid quote for Berwick Creek @ Labree Road MP 0.459 Fish Passage Culvert Replacement Project, F.A. Project NO. PROTECT-2021(078), CMP-2001.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the contract for the Berwick Creek @ Labree Road MP 0.459 Fish Passage Culvert Replacement Project, F.A. Project NO. PROTECT-2021(078), CMP-2001 shall be awarded to Steele Trucking, Inc. in the amount of $1,769,823.00. Upon presentation of a contract, the County Engineer is authorized to sign on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners.
