Wording/In the matter of:

RATIFY THE COUNTY MANAGER'S SIGNATURE ON CHANGE ORDERS 1, 2 AND 3 FOR THE TWIN CITIES SENIOR CENTER ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT, 31-2418

Resolution Number: 25-071

WHEREAS, the Facilities Department has determined the roof on the Twin City Senior Center Building is in need of replacement; and

WHEREAS, Safecover Roofing submitted the lowest responsible bid of $52,500.00 plus tax and permit fees, and the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved the contract via Resolution 24-443; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 23-232, the BOCC defines "Agreement" as a contract that binds Lewis County to a course of action, such as change orders, grant applications or contract amendments; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 23-232 further stipulates that department heads must receive BOCC approval via resolution for agreements that total -- or increase the cumulative project total to -- $50,000 to $350,000; and

WHEREAS, Change orders are needed as follows:

Change Order 1: Add $10,000 for insulation
Change Order 2: Add $10,900 for removal of old gutters and pressure-treated fascias
Change Order 3: Add $5,526.15 for gutters, screens and permit fee(s)

The change orders -- which total $26,426.15 plus tax -- increase the total contract to $78,926.15 plus tax.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC hereby ratifies the signature of the County Manager's signature on Change Orders 1, 2 and 3 -- totaling $26,426.15 plus tax -- for a new contract total of $78,926.15, plus tax, for Project 31-2418, Twin City Senior Center Roof Replacement.
