WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) adopted the 2020-2025 Strategic Plan for Lewis County on November 2, 2020, and has identified a need for a Long-Range Strategic Plan; and

WHEREAS, strategic planning is a disciplined effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, what it does and why it performs the services and / or programs it does; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County hired Tanner LLC for Long-Range Strategic Planning consulting services through an RFP process; and

WHEREAS, Tanner LLC has facilitated the development of a Long-Range Strategic Plan with the input of elected officials, appointed officials and staff of Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC has reviewed the proposed Long-Range Strategic Plan, including the organizational core values and strategic directives outlined in the plan, attached as Exhibit A; and

WHEREAS, this document will stand as a guiding document for the county through 2040; and

WHEREAS, the County Manager and Tanner LLC recommend the BOCC adopt the Long-Range Strategic Plan, as it is in the best interest of the citizens of Lewis County.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Long-Range Strategic Plan for Lewis County is adopted as recommended.
