APPROVE A PURCHASE WITH NOKIA CORPORATION OF AMERICA VIA NASPO WASHINGTON MASTER CONTRACT # 00318 FOR RADIO NETWORK EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES TO CONNECT THE CREGO HILL AND DOG MOUNTAIN SITES UTILIZING DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE GRANT S22094 FUNDS
WHEREAS, Lewis County accepted grant S22094 from the Department of Commerce via Resolution 22-040 in the amount of $126,040 to improve Lewis County radio systems; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County Radio Services has identified an urgent need to install new microwave network equipment to connect the Crego Hill and Dog Mountain sites; and
WHEREAS, Department of Commerce grant S22094 funds are also being utilized to improve radio infrastructure at the TransAlta Mine site ($17,422 in radios from Motorola) and Chehalis Ridge ($30,610 for an interplexer from Motorola); and
WHEREAS, Nokia of America Corporation has completed a competitive pricing contract with NASPO ValuePoint for Public Safety Communications Products, Services and Solutions; and
WHEREAS, Washington State is a NASPO ValuePoint Participating Vendor under WASHINGTON MASTER CONTRACT NO.: 00318; and
WHEREAS, as a local governmental agency, Lewis County has the ability to purchase these products at a discounted rate from Nokia of America Corporation through the NASPO ValuePoint WASHINGTON MASTER CONTRACT NO.: 00318; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has granted department directors the authority to bind the county in amounts totaling $50,000 to $350,000 with BOCC approval, as outlined in Resolution No. 23-232.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the Director of 911 Communications to purchase radio microwave equipment and services from Nokia of America Corporation via NASPO ValuePoint WASHINGTON MASTER CONTRACT NO.: 00318 in the amount of $71,126.85 and applicable taxes using Department of Commerce grant S22094.
