Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County has a need for Housing and Essential Needs (HEN) services within the county; and

WHEREAS, the county is considering outsourcing these services to a separate organization; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Commerce (DOC) contracts with Lewis County to provide HEN services through the Consolidated Homeless Grant (CHG); and

WHEREAS, the HEN program is intended to help individuals referred by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) with the following (1) time-limited rent assistance, (2) services connected to housing stability, and/or (3) limited essential-needs items, such as personal hygiene and transportation; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County is seeking proposals from qualified organizations with expertise in providing services relating to the HEN program; and

WHEREAS, publication to solicit for Housing and Essential Needs (HEN) services is needed to contract with a separate organization.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the BOCC that the Public Health and Social Services Director is instructed to prepare an RFP and create a selection committee to evaluate responses and negotiate a contract with the qualified organization for BOCC approval; and the Clerk of the Lewis County BOCC is instructed to proceed with all appropriate and necessary notifications to advertise for said purpose.
