AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF IT SERVICES TO EXECUTE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR MICROSOFT 365 LICENSES WITH LIFTOFF, LLC
WHEREAS, Lewis County recognizes the critical importance of maintaining a reliable and efficient IT infrastructure to support the diverse needs of our departments and citizens; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County entered into a three-year licensing agreement with LiftOff, LLC, for Microsoft 365 Licensing, facilitating seamless collaboration, productivity, and communication across various departments; and
WHEREAS, the initial licensing period for Year 1 commenced on Sept. 2, 2022, and is set to expire on Sept. 2, 2023, marking the completion of the first year; and
WHEREAS, Microsoft 365 has proven to be a secure and flexible solution, allowing our workforce to adapt to changing work environments, including remote work, and ensuring the seamless exchange of information; and
WHEREAS, failure to renew the Microsoft 365 licenses for Year 2 would result in the suspension of essential software and services, leading to potential disruptions in our daily operations and citizen services; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has granted department heads the authority to bind the county in amounts totaling $50,000 to $350,000 with BOCC approval, as outlined in Resolution No. 23-232.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the Director of Information Technology Services, or his designee, to complete a purchase order with LiftOff, LLC, as per the attached quote, to proceed with the licensing renewal in the amount of $191,964.00 plus applicable taxes.
