Resolution

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) adopted the salary schedule, vacation accrual and insurance benefits associated with the Corrections Captain through Resolution 14-211; and

WHEREAS, in 2021, Lewis County conducted a salary survey of most Lewis County positions including that of the Corrections Captain; and

WHEREAS, it was noted during the survey that the Corrections Captain's salary was under market but adjustments to the Captain's salary were not addressed during the salary survey implementation; and

WHEREAS, as requested by the Sheriff's Office, a market analysis of the Corrections Captain's salary position was conducted by Human Resources where it was identified there was a disproportion of pay between the Lewis County Correction's Captain and other comparable positions as outlined in the results of the salary survey study.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC wishes to amend the Corrections Captain salary from the nine and a half percent (9.5%) spread over the Corrections Lieutenant position to fifteen percent (15%) increase over the Corrections Lieutenant position; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the effective date of the increase shall be April 1, 2023.
