Resolution

WHEREAS, RCW 36.81.121 requires the legislative authority of each county prepare and adopt a Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) that includes proposed road and bridge construction work for the ensuing six calendar years; and

WHEREAS, WAC 136-16 requires the legislative authority of each county to prepare and adopt an Annual Construction Program (ACP) that includes proposed road and bridge construction work for the ensuing calendar year, and that said program shall be adopted at any time prior to the adoption of the budget; and

WHEREAS, the 2023 ACP was submitted to the office of the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on September 28, 2022, and the 2023-2028 Six-Year TIP was submitted on October 12, 2022; and

WHEREAS, the 2023-2028 Six-Year TIP and 2023 ACP reports and all related materials have been reviewed by the BOCC and found appropriate for further proceedings; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC held a public hearing to take public testimony on the 2023-2028 Six-Year TIP and 2023 ACP proposals on November 29, 2022; and

WHEREAS, it was later discovered that the November 29, 2022, had not been properly noticed; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC will hold a public hearing to take public testimony on -- and review and approve -- the 2023-2028 Six-Year TIP and 2023 ACP in the Commissioners' Hearing Room on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse in Chehalis at or after 10 a.m. on January 31, 2023.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC will hold a hearing on the 2023-2028 Six-Year TIP and 2023 ACP in the Commissioners' Hearing Room at or after 10 a.m. January 31, 2023, when and where all persons may appear and be heard upon these programs; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board is hereby instructed to proceed with all necessary notifications, postings and publications.
