Resolution
SELECT CONTRACTOR TO CLEAN AND PAINT THE EXTERIOR OF THE JAIL
WHEREAS, the exterior of the jail needs to be cleaned and painted and needs seal protection to preserve the exterior; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County solicited bids from several commercial painting contractors to complete painting during this paint season. Two of completed bids out of five solicitations were returned. Bids included base price for cleaning, preparation and painting of all exterior surfaces as well as the metal roof cap, corrugated metal and sally port area; and
WHEREAS, Long Painting Company's bid was as follows:
- Base bid: $126,312
- Metal roof cap: $18,314
- Corrugated metal: $45,900
- Sally port area: $21,837
- Payment and performance bond (1.25%): $2,655
- Total: $215,018 plus tax
WHEREAS, Long Painting Company was the lowest responsive bidder for the County's required 2022 timeline, Facilities recommends the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) contract with Long Painting Company, which would commence work in early September 2022.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the contract for cleaning and painting the jail exterior shall be awarded to Long Painting Company in the amount of $215,018 plus Washington State Sales Tax upon the execution of a contract signed by the Chief of Internal Services on behalf of the Board of Commissioners.
