Resolution

WHEREAS, RCW 36.86.030 states that road and bridge standards may be amended from time to time by resolution of the county legislative authority; and

WHEREAS, RCW 36.86.080 states that upon the adoption of uniform design standards, the legislative authority of each county shall apply the same to all new construction within, and as far as practicable and feasible to reconstruction of old roads comprising, the county primary road system; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County signed a Certification Acceptance Qualification Agreement (CA) with WSDOT that states our projects will be constructed in conformance with the WSDOT/APWA current Standard Specifications and such specifications that modify these specifications as appropriate; and

WHEREAS, WSDOT/APWA current Standard Specifications will be updated annually (web-based version only, hard copies no longer available) and revisions that need to occur between annual updates will be incorporated into contracts via web-based General Special Provisions; and

WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the County that all road and bridge construction projects advertised for construction by contract within the County shall be in accordance with the current year version of the web-based Standard Specifications found on WSDOT's website, per RCW 36.86.030, RCW 36.86.080 and the CA.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the current year version of the Standard Specifications and applicable General Special Provisions found on WSDOT's website are hereby adopted as Standard Specifications for Lewis County's road and bridge construction.
