Resolution
LEWIS COUNTY EMERGENCY BURN RESTRICTIONS THROUGHOUT UNINCORPORATED LEWIS COUNTY
WHEREAS, effective 4:30 p.m. April 16, 2021, the Lewis County Fire Marshal enacted burn restrictions on outdoor burning for all of unincorporated Lewis County, Washington; and
WHEREAS, after careful review of the current and extended weather forecast, the Lewis County Commissioners, Community Development Director and Fire Marshal determined that weather conditions within Lewis County have created substantial fire dangers; and
WHEREAS, this burn modification does not allow for open burning on lands regulated by Lewis County, except for recreational fires in designated campgrounds and on private lands, if built in an approved manner. Burn permits are not valid at this time; and
WHEREAS, the burn restrictions will remain in effect until until such discontinuance is modified or rescinded by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). A public announcement of the lifting of the burn restrictions will be released to the public at that time.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC hereby prohibits outdoor burning except for recreational fires on all lands regulated by Lewis County, effective at 4:30 p.m. April 16, 2021, until such restriction is modified or rescinded by like resolution of the BOCC.
DONE IN OPEN SESSION this 20th day of April, 2021.
