WHEREAS, on April 8, 2019, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved Resolution 19-101 to provide "Distressed Counties Funding" funding in the amount of $800,000 for the Port of Chehalis' "Rail Transload and Grain Facility," a project that meets the definition of a "public facility" under RCW 82.14.370; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 19-101 also amended the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), a list of projects maintained by the Lewis Economic Development Council (EDC) as per RCW 82.14.370, to include the "Rail Transload and Grain Facility" project; and

WHEREAS, the Port of Chehalis has requested that the EDC and Lewis County revise its CEDS list to reflect its work on agriculture-related infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, updating the CEDS list helps secure state and federal funding for these Port of Chehalis projects; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best public interest to update the CEDS list to include reference to the Port of Chehalis' work on agriculture-related infrastructure.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners amends the CEDS list to include the updated description of the Port of Chehalis' "Rail Transload and Grain Facility" project.
