Resolution

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Lewis County, Washington, has reviewed the amended Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Lewis County and Lewis Economic Development Council for the period of October 12, 2020, through November 30, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 20-362 approved funding to LEDC for administration of nonprofit and business grants and to develop a committee to make final determination on grant awards in relation to granted Coronavirus Relief Funds not to exceed $500,000; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC has determined that additional funds of $230,600 be awarded to various businesses and nonprofits through the Lewis County Economic impact grant program in addition to the $500,000 previously awarded; and

WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the Lewis County residents for the County to amend the MOU with LEDC to provide these services upon receipt of Coronavirus Relief funding; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of the said contract with LEDC.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that (1) the MOU between Lewis Economic Development Council and Lewis County is hereby amended by $230,600 for a total amount of $730,600 from October 12, 2020, through November 30, 2020, and (2) the County Manager is authorized to sign the same.
