WHEREAS, there is a need to provide COVID-19 emergency shelters and the Public Health Department has identified the Expo Hall at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds to meet this critical need, however the roof of the Expo Hall is failing and is in need of replacement; and

WHEREAS, the County desires to allocate a portion of the Department of Health Coronavirus Relief Funds for necessary shelter services at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds related to the COVID-19 pandemic; and

WHEREAS, bids were solicited from roofing contractors to meet this urgent need, and the lowest responsible bidder was The Roof Doctor Inc. of Chehalis, Wash., and an agreement was executed by the Chief of Internal Services to provide the work; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 11-437, an after-the-fact Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) ratification is required for all contracts, projects, agreements, grant applications, contract amendments and change orders
involving expenditures in excess of $40,000 but less than $150,000.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the contract for the Expo Hall Roof Replacement Project described above and previously executed by Internal Services is hereby ratified by the Board of County Commissioners.
