Summary:

Approve Memorandum of Understanding between the Lewis County Division of Emergency Management and the Lewis County Search and Rescue Council. In order to, on behalf of their members, be able to file claims for fuel reimbursement during active in-county Search and Rescue Missions under a 24 hour period. In an annual amount not to exceed $1,000 of the Division of Emergency Managements annual budget.

Resolution

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Lewis County Division of Emergency Management (DEM) and the Lewis County Search and Rescue (SAR) Council; and

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Search and Rescue Council will be given the ability to request mileage reimbursement on behalf of its members during an active Search and Rescue Mission within Lewis County in an annual amount not surpassing $1,000 beginning January 1, 2020; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the public to authorize the approval of the MOU between Lewis County DEM and Lewis County SAR Council.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that MOU between Lewis County DEM and Lewis County SAR Council is hereby approved.
