Summary:

Authorization for the Director of IT Services to execute a purchase order with CDW-Government, a hardware and software vendor.  In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to exercise social distancing and accommodate our remote workforce, we've identified a need to ensure all County conference rooms are outfitted with appropriate video and audio capabilities in order to perform remote meetings, remote interviews, and telework functions for remote workers.    

This purchase order will provide a camera, speakers, and microphones to allow for high-quality video and audio in County conference rooms.

Resolution

WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted Lewis County operations significantly and is requiring video and audio conferencing capabilities in County conference rooms; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County conference rooms need to be outfitted with appropriate audio and video capabilities for social distancing and accommodations for our remote workforce; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Information Technology Services is responsible for the technology used for video and audio conferencing; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has granted authority to department directors by Resolution No. 09-299, and amended Resolution No. 11-437, to bind the county in amounts up to $40,000.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the Director of Information Technology Services, or his designee, to complete a purchase order with CDW-Government that is in excess of the above-mentioned $40,000 limitation. The total expense including tax is $84,994.00 utilizing the Lewis County Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act funds.
