Resolution

WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has mandated that load rating calculations be performed for all bridges on the National Bridge Inventory; and

WHEREAS, FHWA is requiring Local Agencies evaluate all tonnages for Special Highway Vehicles (SHV); and

WHEREAS, our evaluation has determined that two Lewis County bridges cannot safely handle legal SHV highway loads; and

WHEREAS, the County Engineer has reviewed these reports and other facts pertinent to the bridges, and recommends posting each bridge to limit travel on the bridge.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED pursuant to authority of RCW 46.61.450, that the following bridges in Lewis County will be limited to travel as specified below:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the County Engineer is hereby directed to erect and maintain all necessary signs on or near said bridges pursuant to RCW 46.61.450 and at such other locations as necessary to provide adequate advance notice of such restrictions, and upon erection of such signs, the provisions of this Resolution shall become effective and shall remain in full force..
