Resolution
LEWIS COUNTY BURN RESTRICTIONS MODIFIED TO ALLOW RECREATIONAL FIRES AND SOLID FUEL BBQ USE IN ALL LANDS REGULATED BY LEWIS COUNTY
WHEREAS, effective 8:00 a.m., September 24, 2020, the Lewis County Fire Marshal modified burn restrictions on outdoor burning to allow recreational fires and solid fuel BBQs for all lands regulated by Lewis County, Washington; and
WHEREAS, after careful review of the current and extended weather forecast, the Lewis County Commissioners, Community Development Director and Fire Marshal have determined that current weather conditions within Lewis County have improved enough to modify current burning restrictions. Recreational campfires and use of solid fuel BBQs are allowed at this time; and
WHEREAS, this burn modification does not allow for open burning. Burn permits are still not valid at this time; and
WHEREAS, the burning restrictions will remain in effect until such discontinuance is modified or rescinded by the Board of County Commissioners. A public announcement of the lifting of the burn restrictions will be released to the public at that time.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC hereby modifies Resolution #20-319 to allow recreational fires and solid fuel BBQ use, on all lands regulated by Lewis County, effective at 8:00 a.m. September 24, 2020, until such restriction is modified or rescinded by like resolution of the BOCC.
DONE IN OPEN SESSION this 28th day of September, 2020.
