Resolution

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Lewis County, Washington, has reviewed Agreement, #21-4614C-116, with the Department of Commerce (DOC) to provide funds to be used to prevent evictions by paying past due rents for those with the greatest needs due to the COVID-19 outbreak; and

WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $776,660 through the housing assistance unit Eviction Rental Assistance Program grant (ERAP) is provided for the period of August 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Agreement, #21-4614C-116 between Lewis County and DOC to provide funds to be used to prevent evictions by paying past due rents for those with the greatest needs due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the amount of $776,660 from August 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020, is hereby approved and the Director of Public Health & Social Services is authorized to sign the same.
