Summary:Approving Contract with Ednetics and Cisco for the purchase and installation services of Cisco video conferencing equipment off Washington State NASPO (National Association of State Procurement Officials) ValuePoint contract for the Lewis County Superior Court courtrooms and Lewis County District Court courtrooms.
These services will provide an integrated solution to hold remote video conferencing proceedings and other functions to limit the transport of inmates for court appearances and provide the ability for the public to use video conferencing in lieu of personal appearances due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lewis County Information Technology Services is responsible for the technology used for our remote workforce and video conferencing. The significant increase for the Courts to function with remote video and audio technology during the COVID-19 pandemic requires these additional services and hardware to provide reliable and functional capabilities for these functions.

AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES TO EXECUTE A PURCHASE ORDER WITH EDNETICS AND CISCO
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted Lewis County Court operations significantly and is requiring video and audio conferencing capabilities; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County Courts need to limit the transport of inmates for court appearances and provide the ability for the public to use video conferencing in lieu of personal appearances; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County Information Technology Services is responsible for the technology used for video and audio conferencing; and
WHEREAS, the county has the ability to purchase off of the Washington State contract agreement with Ednetics and Cisco; and
WHEREAS, the BOCC has granted authority to department directors by Resolution No. 09-299, and amended Resolution No. 11-437, to bind the county in amounts up to $40,000.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the Director of Information Technology Services, or his designee, to complete a purchase order with Ednetics and Cisco that is in excess of the above-mentioned $40,000 limitation. The total expense including tax is $490,493.67 utilizing the Washington Administrative Office of the Courts Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act funds or Lewis County Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act funds.
