WHEREAS, Lewis County maintains a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) as a set of guidelines for coordinating countywide disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery in compliance with RCW 38.52.070; and

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Division of Emergency Management has completed the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (RACES) Plan dated May 26, 2020, as an Annex to the Emergency Support Function of Communications within the CEMP; and

WHEREAS, the RACES Plan has been presented for review to the Board of County Commissioners as a set of guidelines for registered amateur radio volunteers to provide essential radio communications for Lewis County during an emergency ; and

WHEREAS, the Board has reviewed the RACES Plan, and it appears to be in the best interest of the public to adopt the plan for Lewis County.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the May 26, 2020, Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services Plan is hereby adopted and approved as an Annex to the Lewis County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan by the Board of County Commissioners, Lewis County, Washington.
