Resolution

WHEREAS, on February 29, 2020, Governor Jay Inslee declared a state of emergency in Washington in response to the continued and growing threat presented by COVID-19, a new strain of coronavirus that can easily spread from person to person; and

WHEREAS, on March 16, 2020, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners declared a local state of emergency via Resolution 20-100 in response to the detection of COVID-19 in Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 20-100 activated the Lewis County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) and the utilization of emergency powers granted pursuant to RCW 36.40.180 and RCW 38.52.070(2); and

WHEREAS, Lewis County may receive federal and state monies restricted for specific purposes related to the emergency protective measures for the management and control, and to lessen the impact and/or threat to public health and safety; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the county to establish a Special Revenue Fund within the county to account for certain financial activities related to the COVID-19 response.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that there is hereby established a Special Revenue Fund to be known as the COVID-19 Response Fund No. 1410 to account for the resources that are restricted or committed for expenditures associated with the COVID-19 Response.
