Resolution

WHEREAS, as outlined in RCW 42.56.580, Lewis County is required to "appoint and publicly identify a public records officer whose responsibility is to serve as a point of contact for members of the public in requesting disclosure of public records and to oversee the agency's compliance with the public records disclosure requirements of this chapter"; and

WHEREAS, Section 4.1(a) of the county's Records Management Policy, which was approved via Resolution 23-419 in December 2023, states, "The County's Public Disclosure Manager is the designated public records officer"; and

WHEREAS, in response to an August 2026 structural reorganization that eliminated the Public Disclosure Manager position and moved oversight of public records to the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved Resolution 26-399 on September 22, 2026, to identify the county's new public records officer (PRO); and

WHEREAS, the individual appointed via Resolution 26-399 has since given notice of resignation, and it is in the public's best interest to identify a new PRO.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby names Prosecuting Attorney's Office employee Tessa Wollan as Lewis County's designated public records officer (PRO) effective October 26, 2026.
