APPROVE A LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT AND FEDERAL AID PROJECT PROSPECTUS BETWEEN LEWIS COUNTY AND WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (WSDOT) FOR THE TUCKER ROAD PAVING MP 0.02-0.16 AND MP 1.69-3.71, 2026 3R PROJECT, CRP 2213D
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 25-339, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) adopted the amended 2026-2031 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the 2026 Countywide 3R Program, to include the Tucker Road Paving MP 0.02-0.16 and MP 1.69-3.71, 2026 3R project, CRP 2213D, is listed as priority number 9. The 3R program provides asset sustainability, pavement preservation and structural integrity to identified county roads; and
WHEREAS, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) funds will be used for the project in the amount of $1,190,623 at 86.5%, for a total of $1,029,889 federal funds, with a 13.5% local match requirement; and
WHEREAS, the conditions of receiving FHWA STBG funds require a Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Project Prospectus signed by the Chair of the BOCC prior to commencing the project; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and County Engineer have reviewed a Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Project Prospectus between Lewis County and WSDOT for the Tucker Road Paving, MP 0.02-0.16 and MP 1.69-3.71, 2026 3R project, CRP-2213D, and recommend approval by the BOCC.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has determined that proceeding with the Tucker Road Paving MP 0.02-0.16 and MP 1.69-3.71, 2026 3R project, CRP-2213D, is in the best public interest and hereby approves the Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Project Prospectus in the amount of $1,190,623 funded by FHWA STBG funds and Roads Fund local match, and the Chair of the BOCC is authorized to sign the same.
