Summary:

The Veterans’ Advisory Board was established by Resolution No. 06-189 and updated by Resolution No. 12-143. The Lewis County Veterans’ Advisory Board bylaws establish the composition, appointment requirements, and operating procedures for membership on the Board. This resolution approves amended bylaws to update and clarify the Board’s membership and operating provisions.

Resolution

WHEREAS, pursuant to Lewis County Code (LCC) 2.11.030 and 2.50.050, the Board of County Commissioners has the authority to adopt bylaws governing advisory board operation and retains the authority to amend the bylaws of advisory groups; and

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Veterans’ Advisory Board was established by Resolution No. 06-189 and later updated by Resolution No. 12-143; and

WHEREAS, the Veterans’ Advisory Board has reviewed its bylaws and is bringing forward proposed amendments for consideration and approval by the Board of County Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has reviewed the proposed amendments and finds that adoption of the amendments is in the best interest of the public health, safety and welfare of Lewis County and the veterans served by the Veterans’ Advisory Board.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners hereby approves the amended bylaws of the Lewis County Veterans’ Advisory Board, attached hereto as Exhibit A.
