Summary:

The Washington State Department of Health contracts with Lewis County for the administration and oversight of Maternal Child Health Block Grant funds. Lewis County also oversees the administration of local Mental Health Tax revenues.

This subcontract provides funding for Thurston County Public Health & Social Services to provide home visiting services through the Nurse Family Partnership program to eligible persons who reside in Lewis County.

Resolution

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed contract #T03-0268-26 between Thurston County and Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) contracts with Lewis County for the administration and oversight of Maternal Child Health Block Grant (MCHBG) funds; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County also oversees the administration of local Mental Health Tax revenues; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of this subcontract is to provide funding for Thurston County Public Health & Social Services to provide home visiting services through the Nurse Family Partnership program to eligible persons who reside in Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, the contract duration is January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026; and

WHEREAS, the total maximum consideration of this contract is $287,626.16; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) hereby awards contract #T03-0268-26 to Thurston County in the amount of $287,626.16 for a term of January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, funded through MCHBG and mental health tax revenues. Upon approval and presentation of such a contract, the Director of Public Health & Social Services is authorized to sign the contract, attached hereto as Exhibit A, on behalf of the BOCC.
