WHEREAS, on December 2, 2025, the City of Chehalis and Lewis County entered into an agreement pursuant to the Interlocal Cooperation Act (ILA), RCW 39.34 to co-manage the Chehalis Urban Growth Area; and

WHEREAS, that agreement, ratified by County Ordinance 1368 and City Resolution 25-2025, passed November 24, 2025, permitted amendments by mutual agreement; and

WHEREAS, in consideration of their mutual interests and at the request of the City of Chehalis who has requested a time extension to the ILA, both parties agree to extend the termination date from March 31, 2026, to January 31, 2027, or until annexation, pursuant to Ordinance 1368, is concluded, whichever occurs first.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED pursuant to Section 12 of the fully executed 2025 ILA Interlocal Agreement, County and City agree to extend the termination date from March 31, 2026, to January 31, 2027, or until annexation pursuant to Ordinance 1368 is concluded, whichever occurs first.
