WHEREAS, the Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility, has been awarded a ramp litter cleanup program grant from the State of Washington Department of Ecology; and

WHEREAS, the Ramp Litter Cleanup Program Agreement No. SWMRLCP-2527-LeCSWU-00023 allows the State to fund $60,000.00 for litter cleanup on state highway ramps within Lewis County effective Jan. 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027; and

WHEREAS, this agreement calls for litter pickup on state ramps, also referred to as an exit ramp/off-ramp or entrance ramp/on-ramp; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the public to ratify this agreement.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners hereby ratifies the Public Works Director's signature on the Ramp Litter Cleanup Program Grant Agreement No. SWMRLCP-2527-LeCSWU-00023 in the total amount of $60,000.00, effective January 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, between the State of Washington Department of Ecology and Lewis County Solid Waste Utility, a Division of Lewis County Department of Public Works.
