Summary:

This resolution will approve an agreement between the State of Washington Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) and Lewis County for the Van Ornum Creek at Bunker Creek Road Fish Passage Construction project, CMP #1610, RCO #23-1788R, in the amount of $260,036.00.  The period of performance begins on July 1, 2025 and ends on December 31, 2026.

Resolution

WHEREAS, Public Works has listed fish passage restoration projects on the maintenance program; and

WHEREAS, Public Works has been awarded grant funding administered through the State of Washington Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) for the Van Ornum Creek at Bunker Creek Road Fish Passage Construction project, CMP #1610, RCO #23-1788R, in the amount of $260,036.00; and

WHEREAS, the period of performance begins on July 1, 2025 and ends on December 31, 2026; and

WHEREAS, the conditions of receiving the grant funding require an agreement signed by the Chair of the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) as attached; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and County Engineer have reviewed the agreement between Lewis County and the RCO.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has determined the project for the Van Ornum Creek at Bunker Creek Road Fish Passage Construction project, CMP #1610, RCO #23-1788R, in the amount of $260,036.00 including tax, for the period to begin July 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2026, funded through RCO, is in the best public interest and hereby approves the Chair of the BOCC to sign the attached agreement.
