AMEND LEWIS COUNTY INVESTMENT POLICY TO ALLOW ALL INTEREST EARNINGS FOR COMMUNICATIONS BUILDING AND EQUIPMENT FUND NO. 3300 TO BE RETAINED BY THAT FUND
WHEREAS, in April 2025, Lewis County established Communications Building and Equipment Fund No. 3300 for the collection of tax revenues received from the Washington State Treasurer’s Office and designated for E-911 communication services; and
WHEREAS, the Lewis County Investment Policy currently provides that all investment interest earnings are to be retained by the Lewis County General Fund unless otherwise designated in the Investment Policy, by Washington State Statute, or directed by the County Governing Body; and
WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners has determined that, beginning January 1, 2026, all investment interest earnings generated by Communications Building and Equipment Fund No. 3300 shall be retained by that fund; and
WHEREAS, implementation of this directive requires that the Lewis County Finance Committee amend the Lewis County Investment Policy to reflect the direction of the Board of County Commissioners.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lewis County Investment Policy shall be amended to provide that, effective January 1, 2026, all investment interest earnings attributable to Communications Building and Equipment Fund No. 3300 shall be retained by that fund.
