Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County has an Open Space Advisory Committee, as governed by RCW 84.34.145; and

WHEREAS, the five-member Open Space Advisory Committee represents the active farming community within Lewis County and serves in an advisory capacity to the Lewis County Assessor in implementing assessment guidelines as established by the state Department of Revenue for the assessment of open space, farms and agricultural lands, and timberlands classified under RCW 84.34; and

WHEREAS, Joe Balmelli, who was appointed to the committee in 2001 via Resolution 01-275, has stepped down, creating a vacancy; and

WHEREAS, Ryan Thode of Onalaska has expressed a willingness and desire to serve on the committee; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to appoint Ryan Thode to the Open Space Advisory Committee.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) hereby appoints Ryan Thode to the Open Space Advisory Committee for an indefinite term that extends until Ryan Thode resigns or the BOCC votes to appoint a replacement.
