WHEREAS, Lions World Vision Institute is a Washington nonprofit corporation that harvests corneas as an organ procurement organization; and

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Coroner's Office recognizes the importance of providing families access to programs that enable tissue and eye donation; and

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Coroner's Office cooperates in the coordination of cornea harvest; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the public's best interest to approve a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that would allow Lions World Vision to harvest corneas at the fee amount of $100 (one hundred dollars) per harvest (per decedent) for a term through December 31, 2027.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) hereby approves a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Lions World Vision for the harvesting of corneas at the fee amount of $100 (one hundred dollars) per harvest (per decedent) for a term through December 31, 2027. Lewis County Coroner Warren McLeod is hereby authorized to sign the contract, attached hereto as Exhibit A, on behalf of Lewis County.
