Wording/In the matter of:

APPROVE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF AND CORRECTIONAL HEALTH PARTNERS INC. (CHP)

Resolution Number: 25-247

WHEREAS, the current Lewis County Jail medical services provider has unilaterally demanded significant price increases; and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff has determined that the interests of the public are best served by accepting the agreement with a new provider for jail medical services; and

WHEREAS, few entities exist that are able and willing to provide inmate medical services of an acceptable standard for local jails; and

WHEREAS, a more a cost-effective arrangement for inmate medical services has been negotiated by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office with Correctional Healthcare Partners (“CHP”) effective November 1, 2025; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said agreement.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Sheriff or, in his absence, the Undersheriff or Corrections Chief, is authorized to sign the subjoined Agreement on behalf of Lewis County and provide notice of termination to the current healthcare services provider (Everhealth/Naphcare) effective October 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
