Summary:

The Department of Commerce contracts with Lewis County to oversee the administration of the Consolidated Homeless Grant (CHG). This grant provides resources to fund homelessness crisis response systems and to assist people who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness to obtain or maintain housing.

Lewis County Public Health and Social Services will enter into subcontracts with local service agencies to deliver a comprehensive range of homelessness response services. These services include case management, emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, and Housing and Essential Needs (HEN) assistance for individuals and families within Lewis County.

Wording/In the matter of:

APPROVE INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT CONTRACT #26-46108-18 BETWEEN THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE (DOC) AND LEWIS COUNTY

Resolution Number: 25-224

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners has reviewed Interagency Agreement Contract #26-46108-18 between the Washington State Department of Commerce (DOC) and Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Commerce contracts with Lewis County to oversee the administration of the Consolidated Homeless Grant (CHG); and

WHEREAS, this grant provides resources to fund homelessness crisis response systems and to assist people who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness to obtain or maintain housing; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Public Health and Social Services will enter into subcontracts with local service agencies to deliver a comprehensive range of homelessness response services; these services include case management, emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, and Housing and Essential Needs (HEN) assistance for individuals and families within Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, the contract duration is July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027; and

WHEREAS, the total maximum consideration for this contract is $6,571,088; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract for Lewis County.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby approves Contract #26-46108-18 to provide funding up to $6,571,088 for the purpose of supporting homelessness crisis response systems and to assist people who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness to obtain or maintain housing; and authorizes the Director of Public Health & Social Services to sign the same.
