WHEREAS, Lewis County awarded the City of Centralia .09 (Distressed Counties) grant funding totaling $1,600,093.85 -- with up to $800,000 to be funded in 2023 and the remaining amount to be funded in 2024 -- for the city's “Alder Street Improvements” project via Resolution 23-186 on June 6, 2023; and

WHEREAS, the project serves economic development purposes; and

WHEREAS, the project is listed on the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), which is a list of projects maintained by the Lewis County Economic Alliance, formerly known as the Lewis County Economic Development Council (EDC), as per RCW 82.14.370; and

WHEREAS, the City of Centralia wishes to expand the reimbursement timeline for its “Alder Street Improvements” project; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the public's best interest for the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to approve changes to Centralia's “Alder Street Improvements” funding timeline.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC hereby authorizes extending reimbursement funding through December 31, 2025; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the BOCC hereby approves the addendum, attached hereto as Exhibit A, to the county's grant agreement with the City of Centralia.
