Resolution

WHEREAS, it is the intent of Lewis County to provide a safe and healthful work environment for all employees, in which employee hearing loss is prevented by minimizing noise exposure and ensuring those employees who are exposed are protected; and

WHEREAS, Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 296-817-099 through 296-817-50025 provides specific standards and thresholds, and also establishes local requirements for maintaining an effective Hearing Conservation Program; and

WHEREAS, a draft Hearing Conservation Program has been presented to the elected officials and department directors of Lewis County which report to the Board of County Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, this resolution amends Risk Policy 4.750A adopted June 20, 2005, and supersedes all other Hearing Conservation policies and resolutions.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED Lewis County hereby implements (WAC) 296-817-099 through 296-817-50025 by adopting the Hearing Conservation Program as revised effective May 27, 2025, and attached hereto by reference as "Exhibit A".
