Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County last revised the Sheriff's Office Fee Schedule via Resolution 25-035 on February 4, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance 1361, proposed for approval on April 1, 2025, would shift animal enforcement -- including investigations for the Dangerous Animal Decisions (DAD) Board and kennel inspection and licensing -- from Lewis County's Public Health Department to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office; and

WHEREAS, fees related to the animal enforcement responsibilities would need to be moved from Public Health to the Sheriff’s Office; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed the proposed Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Animal Fee Schedule; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the Sheriff's Office to amend its fee schedule to include the Animal Fee Schedule, attached hereto as Exhibit A.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby amends the Sheriff's Office Fee Schedule to include the Animal Fee Schedule, attached hereto as Exhibit A, effective April 1, 2025.
