Resolution

WHEREAS, the Southwest Washington Fair Advisory Board consists of seven (7) members appointed by the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC); and

WHEREAS, the BOCC established volunteer board via Resolution 08-295 and updated its bylaws via Resolution 22-042; and

WHEREAS, with the unfortunate passing of member Lee Coumbs, the advisory board has a vacancy to fill; and

WHEREAS, Ross Petersen of Curtis has expressed interest in serving on the Southwest Washington Fair Advisory Board; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best public interest to appoint qualified candidates to the Southwest Washington Fair Advisory Board; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 22-042 established staggered, four-year terms for Board members, with the terms for three of the positions expiring together and the terms for the remaining four positions expiring together two years later.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby appoints Ross Petersen to the Southwest Washington Fair Advisory Board to fill the remainder of Lee Coumbs's term -- which was set to expire May 31, 2025 -- and to then immediately begin a full four-year term expiring May 31, 2029.
