WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) appoints individuals to serve on the Pacific Mountain (PacMtn) Workforce Development Council; and

WHEREAS, appointee Bill Sullivan resigned from his position on the PacMtn Workforce Development Council in February 2023, creating a vacancy; and

WHEREAS, Marika Bertolini, who serves as the Project Manager of Outreach & Recruitment Initiatives for Providence Centralia Hospital, has expressed a willingness and desire to serve on the PacMtn Workforce Development Council; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to PacMtn By-Laws Article V, Section 3: “Initial appointments to PacMtn WDC shall be staggered proportionally for two, three and four years as determined by the Consortium upon appointment. Subsequent appointments for a maximum of 3 terms will be for three years. Directors shall remain seated until a new appointment is made to fill the seat”; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to appoint Marika Bertolini to the PacMtn Workforce Development Council.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby appoints Marika Bertolini to the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council effective immediately for a term that expires June 30, 2027.
