Resolution

WHEREAS, the original agreement was to provide Medicaid Reentry Services to support reimbursement of medical expenses for those incarcerated individuals who qualified for Apple Care/Medicaid, 90 days prior to release; and

WHEREAS, the original timeline set by Washington Department of Health has changed and the implementation for the Medicaid reimbursement program will experience significant delays; and

WHEREAS, it will be in the best interest of the county to authorize a 30-day termination letter and continue to monitor the progress for the reentry project in Washington State, taking into consideration future financial hardships for current jail medical program contracts as well as the Medicaid initiative infrastructure funding is a one-time payment.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Lewis County Sheriff's Office may issue a 30-day termination letter to the Washington Health Care Authority.
