WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) issued a call for sealed bids for the printing of legal publications on February 4, 2025; and

WHEREAS, the county received three bids; and

WHEREAS, bids from The Chronicle, The East County Journal and The Lewis County News were opened during an open public meeting on March 18, 2025; and

WHEREAS, the bids submitted were as follows:

*The Lewis County News submitted a bid for 7.5-point type; and

WHEREAS, The Chronicle is the lowest qualified bidder per the bid specifications; and

WHEREAS, per RCW 36.72.075, the county legislative authority must -- at its first meeting in April -- select a newspaper to serve as the official county newspaper for one year beginning on the first day of July.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the BOCC (1) that The Chronicle be named Lewis County's legal newspaper of record for the period beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026, at a cost of $3.80 per 1.20 column inch at 8-point type in conformance with the sample furnished with The Chronicle's bid and (2) that the County Manager be authorized to sign the Printing Contract with The Chronicle.
